Wormwood grass

The medicine “Wormwood Bitter Grass” is used to increase appetite and improve the secretory activity of the digestive organs in gastritis with decreased secretory function of the stomach; as part of the complex treatment of cholecystitis, biliary dyskinesia.

Structure

One pack contains (active ingredient) wormwood (Artemisiae absinthii herba) 75 g.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug;
• ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, gallstone disease, the presence of a history of bleeding from the pelvic organs;
• anemia;
• epilepsy.

Mode of application

Place two teaspoons of the herb in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, close the lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the remainder into strained infusion. Bring the volume of infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm 30 minutes before meals:

• adults and children over 14 years old - one tablespoon 3-4 times a day;
• children 10-14 years old - one dessert spoon 3 times a day;
• children 5-10 years old - one teaspoon 3 times a day.

The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Between courses, breaks of up to 2 months are required.

Pregnant women

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated (increases the tone of the uterus).

Children

The drug is used for children aged 5 years.

Drivers

The drug does not affect the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

Overdose

With prolonged use, atonic constipation is possible. Reception in high doses, especially long, can lead to poisoning - the development of seizures, hallucinations and cause the so-called wormwood epilepsy. The treatment is symptomatic.

Side effects

Hypersensitivity reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching), nausea, vomiting are possible. If adverse reactions occur, cancel the drug.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.

Store the prepared aqueous extract at a temperature of 8-15 ° C for no more than 2 days.

Shelf life is 2 years.
