Vicair has a complex effect. basic bismuth nitrate, sodium bicarbonate, heavy magnesium carbonate exhibit antacid and astringent effects, buckthorn bark has a laxative effect, calamus rhizome has an antispasmodic effect.

Indications

As part of the complex therapy of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, functional dyspepsia, hyperacid gastritis.

Application

Vicair tablets are taken orally after a meal.

Adults - 1-2 tablets (it is better to grind tablets) 3 times a day after meals, with ½ cup of warm water. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the nature and severity of the disease.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. chronic and inflammatory processes of the intestine and gall bladder; hypoacid gastritis; gastrointestinal bleeding; severe renal impairment; acute febrile conditions.

Side effects

From the digestive tract: increased bowel movements, which stops when the dose is reduced, nausea, vomiting, pigmentation of the tongue;

from the central nervous system: headache;

on the part of the blood system and lymphatic system: hemoglobinemia;

general disorders: swelling of the gums and eyelids;

Interactions

With the use of the drug, the severity of the resorptive effect of tetracyclines decreases, since when tetracyclines interact with preparations containing magnesium cations, complexes are formed that are poorly absorbed.

During treatment with the drug, other bismuth-containing agents should not be taken in order to prevent the risk of an increase in the content of bismuth in the blood.

It should not be used simultaneously with alkaloids, glycosides, enzyme preparations and antibiotics.

The drug reduces the absorption of coumarin derivatives.

It is possible to reduce the absorption of other drugs that are used simultaneously with Vicair. Therefore, the time interval between doses of drugs should be at least 2 hours.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Treatment: symptomatic.
