Vagilac (vaginal capsules) (Vagilac)
Pharmachologic effect:
Vagilac - vaginal capsules containing bacteria that are beneficial to the vaginal microflora, including lactobacillus.
Vagilac helps to normalize the pH of the vagina, which leads to an increase in the growth of necessary microflora and a slowdown in the growth of pathogenic bacteria.
Streptococcus lactic acid creates the conditions for the development of lactic acid bacilli (lactobacilli). Between lactic streptococcus and lactobacilli, there are symbiotic relationships that play a significant role in the formation of normal microflora.
With intravaginal use, the components of the drug Vagilak are not absorbed into the systemic circulation. The colonization ability of the lactobacilli of the drug Vagilac is increased due to the presence of Streptococcus thermophilus in the drug.
Indications for use:
Vagilac is used for local treatment and prevention of vaginal microflora disorders, including those associated with diseases of bacterial and fungal etiology, as well as diseases caused by protozoa.
Mode of application:
Vagilak capsules are intended for intravaginal use. The Vagilak capsule is recommended to be administered deep into the vagina before bedtime in the supine position. It is necessary to carefully observe personal hygiene during the entire period of treatment with Vagilak.
The duration of use and the pattern of use of the drug Vagilak is determined by the doctor.
For the treatment of disorders of the vaginal microflora (caused by acute, chronic and recurrent infectious and inflammatory gynecological diseases), usually 1 capsule of the drug Vagilak is prescribed at night. The use of the drug Vagilac should begin on 4-5 days after the start of antibiotic therapy.
The duration of the course of use is 10 days.
To prevent disorders of the vaginal microflora (including bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis and candidiasis), monotherapy with Vagilac is usually prescribed. From the second half of the menstrual cycle, it is recommended to administer 1 capsule of the Vagilak preparation daily before bedtime deep into the vagina.
The duration of the preventive course is 5 or 10 days.
If necessary, the doctor can increase the duration of therapy or prescribe repeated courses of treatment with Vagilak.
Side effects:
In rare cases, when using the drug Vagilak, the development of local side effects is noted, including a burning sensation and hyperemia of the vaginal mucosa.
With the development of side effects of the drug Vagilac, it is necessary to stop the use of capsules and consult a doctor.

Vagilac is not prescribed for patients with intolerance to the existing or additional components of vaginal capsules.
