Pharmacological properties
the active substance of the tyrosur preparation - tyrotricin - is a compound of various cyclic and linear polypeptides with antibacterial activity, and represents the endotoxin of anaerobic spore-forming bacillus brevis. this compound contains up to 70–80% of thyrocidins (the main cyclic decapeptides) and up to 20–30% of gramicidins (neutral linear pentadecapeptides).
Active mainly against gram-positive bacteria Staph. aureus MSSA, Staph. aureus MRSA, Staph. haemolyticus, Strep. pyogenes, Strep. viridans, Enterococcus faecalis, Diplococcus pneumoniae, Corynebact. spp., Neisseria meningitides, some strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, fungi and Trichomonas, as well as some gram-negative bacteria and some species of fungi, including Candida.
Tyrotricin has a dose-dependent bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect against microorganisms such as Clostridia.
Isolation from bacteria cells of substances such as nitrogen and phosphates ensures the effectiveness of thyrocidin. Like cationic detergents, thyrocidine destroys the osmotic barrier of bacterial cell membranes. Due to the direct action on the cell wall of the bacterium, the action of the drug Tyrosur is not limited to inhibition of growth or cell division, it also determines the bactericidal effect of tyrocidin.
In addition, gramicidins form cationic channels in the cell membrane of bacteria, which leads to their loss of potassium and, as a result, to a change in the intracellular concentration of cations and cytolysis. A component such as gramicidin further leads to a rupture of phosphorylation processes in the cell respiration chain.
Due to the special mechanism of action of thyrotricin, which is not observed in systemic antibiotics, cross-resistance does not develop.
Tyrosur accelerates the healing process by cleansing the bottom of the wound, as well as stimulating the processes of granulation and epithelization.
Pharmacokinetics It is not known to what extent thyrotricin can be absorbed systemically. High concentrations were found in the stratum corneum (after application to the intact surface) and directly in the wound.
Indications
Superficial wounds with little exudate and superinfection caused by pathogenic microorganisms sensitive to thyrotricin, such as lacerations, scratches, abrasions.
Application
Powder: Sprinkle a thin layer of powder 1-2 times a day on the affected area of the skin and, if necessary, cover it with a bandage.
Gel: apply the gel 2-3 times a day with a thin layer on the affected skin. With small wounds and inflammations of the skin in open areas of the body, there is usually no need to close them. For extensive injuries or wetting wounds, a protective dressing is recommended, which must be changed after 1-2 days.
The duration of treatment with the drug Tyrosur is set individually, depending on the course of the disease. If there is no improvement after a weekly use of the drug, then treatment tactics should be reviewed.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. contraindicated for intranasal use; There are reports that such a method of use may lead to a violation of the sense of smell.
Side effects
Skin irritation, allergic reactions, including erythema, urticaria, contact dermatitis.
special instructions
Care must be taken when applying the gel to areas around the eyes, as this may cause a burning sensation. Tyrosur gel contains propylene glycol, which can cause skin irritation.
Use during pregnancy or lactation
Period of pregnancy. There are no data on the effect of the drug on pregnancy. Adequate studies of the effect of thyrotricin on reproductive function in animals have not been conducted. The degree of systemic absorption of thyrotricin after its use on the surface of the skin is unknown, therefore, during pregnancy it should be used with caution. The drug during pregnancy should be used only after assessing the benefit / risk ratio, in a small amount and for a short time.
The period of breastfeeding. It is not known whether thyrotricin passes into breast milk after cutaneous use; therefore, it should be used with caution in small quantities and for a short time during lactation. During breastfeeding, the drug should not be used in the chest area. Avoid contact with skin areas on which the powder or gel is applied.
Children. If necessary, the drug can be used in children of any age.
The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms. Does not affect.
