Pharmacological properties

Trachisan contains a combination of substances with antimicrobial properties and local anesthetic effect.

Tyrotricin is a mixture of different cyclic and linear (aliphatic) polypeptides that act antibacterially. The mixture contains up to 70–80% tyrocidin — an alkaline cyclic decapeptide and 20–30% gramicidin — a neutral linear pentadecapeptide.

Tyrocidin leads to the release of substances containing nitrogen and phosphorus from bacterial cells, which, like cationic detergents, destroy the osmotic barrier of the bacterial cell membrane. Thyrocidine has a bactericidal effect on growing and dividing microorganisms.

Gramicidin creates cation-conducting channels in the bacterial cell membrane, leading to a change in the intracellular concentration of cations and cytolysis. Gramicidin component contributes to the further separation of the processes of tissue respiration and oxidative phosphorylation.

The range of action of tyrotricin extends to gram-positive cocci, bacteria and some types of fungi, for example Candida albicans.

Unlike antibiotics, when using thyrotricin, there is no cross-resistance of microorganisms. This property is due to the special mechanism of action of thyrotricin.

Chlorhexidine and its salts have a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity relative to gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

The mechanism of action of chlorhexidine is based on its affinity for the cell membrane of microorganisms, whose properties change due to contact with the active substance.

The lipophilic groups of chlorhexidine cause disaggregation of the lipoprotein membrane of the cell membrane, disrupt the osmotic balance in the cells, which destroys the cytoplasmic membrane of the pathogen cell.

The effect on some gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas, Proteus), yeast, dermatophytes and mycobacteria is insignificant. Chlorhexidine is ineffective against spores of fungi, putrefactive fungi, viruses.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local amide type anesthetic. The drug causes a blockage of the sodium channels of the nerve fiber, as a result of which the process of depolarization of the membrane of the nerve cell through the active potential is disrupted. In this case, the transmission of excitation in the fibers of the sensory nerves is blocked.

With prolonged use (longer than several months), the effectiveness of the drug decreases, which is apparently due to changes in the bacterial spectrum of the microflora of the oral cavity and tooth surface.

Indications

Inflammatory and infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx, such as stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis, glossitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and other conditions accompanied by impaired swallowing. for the prevention of infections before and after surgery in areas of the oral cavity and pharynx (tooth extraction, surgical treatment of gums, tonsillectomy).

Application

Take 1 tablet of trachisan, dissolving in the oral cavity every 2 hours. The daily dose for adults and children over the age of 12 years is 8 tablets; for children aged 4 to 12 years - 6 tablets. as a rule, the symptoms of the disease disappear after a few days, but to achieve a stable therapeutic effect, it is recommended to continue therapy for another 2-3 days. in the event that the patients condition does not improve after 5 days of using the drug, a doctor’s consultation regarding further treatment is necessary.

The continuous use of trahisan resorption tablets without a doctors prescription can last no more than 2 weeks.

Children. It is not recommended for use in children under 4 years of age, since the drug must be absorbed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or to other amide local anesthetics.erosive and desquamative changes in the oral mucosa, fresh large wounds in the oral cavity and pharynx, fructose intolerance.

Side effects

In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions are possible, including: local irritation, swelling of the pharynx, swelling of the face, itching, hives, skin rashes, or shortness of breath.

Perhaps a short-term change in taste, temporary numbness of the tongue, which disappear on their own after stopping the drug. With prolonged use in isolated cases, slight staining in yellow or light brown color of teeth, dental fillings and prostheses or tongue is possible, you can get rid of with oral hygiene.

special instructions

Trachisan does not contain sugar and therefore does not contribute to tooth decay. the drug can be used in patients with diabetes mellitus using the calculation of the sugar substitute sorbitol on he (0.69 g of sorbitol corresponds to 0.057 he).

During pregnancy and breastfeeding. No information on the negative effects of the drug during pregnancy and lactation has been reported. However, special studies in this category of patients were not performed. Therefore, before using the drug, the doctor should weigh the risk / benefit ratio for this group of patients.
