Pharmacological properties

Chloropyramine (n - dimethylaminoethyl hydrochloride, -n- (para-chlorobenzyl) -aminopyridine) is an antihistamine drug of the group of substituted ethylenediamines. also has an anti-inflammatory effect, reduces capillary permeability, has peripheral anticholinergic, sedative and hypnotic effects.

Indications

Allergic dermatoses (urticaria, eczema, pruritus, dermatitis), allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, hay fever, Quinckes edema, drug allergy, initial stages of ba.

Application

In severe and acute cases of allergic reactions, chloropyramine is administered IM or IV in 1-2 ml of 2% solution.

Contraindications

Glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, peptic ulcer of the stomach.

Drowsiness, general weakness, digestive disorders.

In case of anaphylactic shock, as well as in cases of other acute and severe allergic reactions, it is recommended to start therapy with iv administration of the drug, then treatment is continued with iv administration of chloropyramine.

At the beginning of treatment, patients taking the drug should refrain from doing work that requires increased attention and a quick reaction. In the future, these restrictions depend on the individual response to the treatment.

During treatment, alcohol is prohibited.

Interactions

Chloropyramine in combination with tricyclic antidepressants enhances parasympathomimetic effects.

Overdose

In children, it manifests itself with excitement, anxiety, hallucinations, ataxia, athetosis, convulsions, mydriasis and stillness of the pupils, facial skin hyperemia, hyperthermia, then - vascular collapse, coma; in adults - inhibition, depression, coma, then psychomotor agitation, convulsions, rarely - hyperthermia and hyperemia of the skin. treatment is symptomatic.
