Pharmacological properties

Solcovagin is a combined preparation for the local treatment of benign lesions of the cervix. due to its composition, Solcovagin acts differently on different types of cervical epithelium. after applying the drug to erosion and the transformation zone, Solcovagin causes an immediate intravital fixation of the ectopic cylindrical epithelium and subepithelial stroma.

The stratified squamous epithelium is sufficiently resistant to the action of the drug and practically does not undergo changes. The fixation process takes only a few minutes and is accompanied by a pale yellowish or gray staining of the tissue. Necrotic tissue is a protective layer, under which again the formation of a stratified squamous epithelium occurs. After a few days, the necrotic epithelium is desquamated.

Pharmacokinetics The acids and zinc nitrate that make up Solcovagin cause rapid devitalization and fixation of pathologically altered tissues. This process is probably not accompanied by significant absorption; given the minimum therapeutic dose, a systemic effect of the drug is unlikely.

Indications

Cervical ectopia; transformation zone; ovula nabothi (after opening); cervical canal polyps; postoperative granuloma (for example, after a hysterectomy).

Application

The drug is intended for topical use only and can be applied exclusively by a gynecologist. during the procedure, it is necessary to treat only the affected area, avoiding the penetration of the solution onto the skin of the external genital organs and vaginal epithelium.

Clean the cervix from the discharge with a cotton swab. Treatment of the cervix with 3% acetic acid rum makes it possible to more clearly define the boundaries of the lesion.

Impregnate Solcovagin with a cotton swab wound on a wooden stick. Treat the affected area.

After 1-2 minutes, repeat the treatment with a new cotton swab dipped in the Solcovagin solution.

Solcovagin treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis and does not include any restrictions on the use of water procedures and in sexual activity.

When treating erosion large in size and sufficiently deep, after the first course, it is recommended to monitor and repeat the treatment after 4-6 days.

The patient must again come for a follow-up examination 4 weeks after treatment. If the results of the examination are unsatisfactory, it is necessary to conduct a second course of treatment (2 applications) and then appoint a new follow-up visit after 4 weeks.

Order of use and destruction of packaging.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. formation of a crystalline precipitate is possible, which is a consequence of temperature fluctuations (for example, a decrease in ambient temperature during transportation). short-term heating (1-2 minutes) to 40 ° C leads to the dissolution of the precipitate.
