Pharmacological properties

Indications
As monotherapy or in combination with systemic therapy for the treatment of primary or secondary infections of the skin and soft tissues caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms (staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium minutissimum and propionibacterium acnes), including impetigo, folliculitis, paronychia skin in the beard area, erythrasma, acne, infected wounds and burns, infected contact dermatitis, infected eczema-like dermatitis.
Application
It is necessary to apply to adults and children over 1 month with a thin layer on the affected skin 2-3 times a day for 7 days. acne treatment must be carried out within 14 days. you can use fusiderm under a bandage - in this case, fusiderm can be used less often (1-2 times a day). in the presence of necrotic masses before using the drug, they must be removed.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid and other components of the drug; infections of the skin and soft tissues caused by drug-resistant microorganisms, for example pseudomonas aeruginos.
Side effects
General disorders and reactions at the site of application: itching, slight burning, tingling sensation, dermatitis, including contact and eczematous skin rashes, erythema, pain at the site of application, reactions at the site of application.
On the part of the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including skin irritation, hyperemia, burning sensation, conjunctivitis, periorbital edema, angioedema, urticaria.
special instructions
There is evidence of bacterial resistance during topical use of fusidic acid. as with all topical antibiotics, prolonged and repeated use of the drug may increase the risk of contact sensitization and the development of resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics.
Apply the drug to the skin around the eyes with caution, avoiding contact with the eyes, as this can cause conjunctival irritation.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of Fusiderm during pregnancy and lactation is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and baby.
Children. Apply in children over the age of 1 month.
