Pharmacological properties
sodium citrate is metabolized to bicarbonate, which promotes regression of dysuria, which is noted with cystitis, reduces the acidity of urine, causing alkalization.
The pharmacokinetics of sodium citrate are consistent with its natural pharmacokinetics in the body.
Indications
Relieving symptoms of cystitis in women.
Application
Women (adults). Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a glass of water.
Take orally 1 sachet 3 times a day for 48 hours.
The prepared solution must be used immediately.
Men and children. Not recommended.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sodium citrate and other components of the drug. diabetes, heart disease, ag, kidney disease, patients who are on a low-salt diet, pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects
From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including a rash on the skin.
From the digestive tract: abdominal pain.
From the kidneys and urinary system: moderate increase in diuresis.
special instructions
If symptoms persist after 2 days of treatment, consult a doctor.
Do not exceed recommended dose.
Excipients. The product contains sucrose. If the patient has intolerance to certain sugars, you need to consult a doctor before taking this drug.
This medicine contains 40.8 mmol (939 mg) / dose of sodium. Caution should be exercised when used in patients following a sodium-controlled diet.
Use during pregnancy and lactation. Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Children. Not recommended.
The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms. Not installed.
Interactions
The combined use of drugs containing sodium should be avoided for patients receiving lithium preparations, since sodium is predominantly absorbed by the kidneys, which leads to increased excretion of lithium and a decrease in its level in blood plasma.
Do not take drugs that promote alkalization of urine, in particular sodium citrate, with urotropine, since it is effective only in acidic urine.
The therapeutic effect of a number of drugs can be reduced or increased with alkalization of urine or a decrease in the pH of gastric juice, which result from the action of sodium citrate.
Overdose
The drug is unlikely.
Symptoms: If you consume sodium citrate excessively, you may experience gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea. An overdose of sodium salts can lead to hypernatremia and hyperosmolarity. Excessive consumption of bicarbonates can lead to hypokalemia and metabolic alkalosis, especially in patients with impaired renal function.
Treatment: symptomatic, including appropriate correction of water-electrolyte balance.
Storage conditions
At a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
