Onabet cream is used for local treatment of fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes and yeast fungi: epidermophytosis of the feet, inguinal epidermophytosis, smooth skin dermatomycosis, trichophytosis of the beard and mustache, dermatomycosis of the hands, candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor.
Structure
The active substance is sertaconazole (1 g of cream contains 20 mg sertaconazole nitrate).
Excipients: cetyl alcohol, myristyl stearyl alcohol, glycerol monostearate, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, octyldodecanol, mineral light oil, benzyl alcohol, purified water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sertaconazole or to any antifungal derivatives of the imidazole group in the history or to any other component of the drug.
Mode of application
The cream should be applied 1 or 2 times a day (preferably at night or in the morning and evening) with a thin layer gently and evenly on the affected area of the skin, trying to capture about 1 cm of healthy skin around the affected area.
The duration of treatment depends on the etiology of the pathogen and the location of the infection.
As a rule, approximately 4 weeks of treatment is recommended to achieve clinical remission with negative microbiological detection and to prevent relapse, but in many cases, clinical recovery occurs earlier - between the second and fourth weeks.
Application features
Pregnant women
The effect of sertaconazole on newborns or pregnant women was not investigated, therefore, before prescribing the drug during pregnancy and lactation, it is necessary to assess the benefit-risk ratio for the woman and the fetus / child.
Children
There is no data on the use of the drug in pediatrics.
Drivers
The drug does not affect the reaction rate when driving vehicles and other mechanisms.
Overdose
Taking into account the concentration of the active substance and the route of administration, which is recommended, intoxication is unlikely. However, if the drug is accidentally swallowed, appropriate symptomatic therapy should be used.
Side effects
The drug showed good tolerance when applied to both intact and damaged skin. Locally, contact dermatitis may appear (dry skin, burning, itching, urticaria). Hypersensitivity reactions, local transient erythematous reactions that do not require discontinuation of the drug are possible.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children. Do not freeze.
