Structure:

Active ingredient: 1 bottle contains propolis tincture (propolisi tinctura) (1:10) (extractant - ethanol 80%) - 25 ml;

Propolis (bee glue) is a vital product of bees that contains a number of nutrients: essential oils, a mixture of resins, wax, flavonoids, flavones, cinnamic acid derivatives.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to propolis or individual intolerance, especially in people with liver and kidney diseases, eczema, allergic reactions (especially to beekeeping products), bleeding from damaged skin and mucous membranes.

Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions.

It is not recommended to mix with other antiseptic agents or beekeeping products.

Features of the application.

When using the drug, complications are possible, therefore, the patient must be warned about the possibility of their occurrence. symptoms of intolerance to propolis can occur immediately after its use or after several hours or even days. in individual patients, they appear only during a second course of treatment.

Before the first use of the drug, it is necessary to conduct a tolerance test: apply the drug with a cotton swab to the skin of the forearm or to the skin of the palate and observe for 30 minutes. With the appearance of severe hyperemia, severe burning or blistering, the use of the drug is contraindicated. If the test for tolerance is positive or intolerance manifested during the use of the drug, its use must be discontinued and antihistamines prescribed.

Use during pregnancy or lactation.

During pregnancy or lactation, the drug is not recommended.

Dosage and administration.

Propolis tincture is used locally for adults and children from 3 years old in the form of applications, rinses, rinses, and also prescribed in the form of inhalations. in case of microtraumas and pustular skin diseases, propolis tincture is applied with a swab to the affected area 1-3 times a day. with external purulent otitis media, after the toilet of the auditory meatus, insert a tampon soaked in propolis tincture (for 1-2 minutes 2-3 times a day) or instill 1-2 drops of propolis tincture 3-4 times a day. in chronic tonsillitis and pharyngitis, the mucous membrane should be lubricated 1-2 times a day for 8-15 days. in addition, with tonsillitis, propolis tincture should be used for the preparation of an inhaled alcohol-water solution in a ratio of 1:20.

Conduct 1-2 inhalations per day, the course of treatment - 7-10 days. In chronic sinusitis, rinse the maxillary sinuses with a solution prepared from tincture of propolis and 0.9% sodium chloride solution (in a ratio of 1:10) 2 times a day for 2 weeks. In case of periodontal disease, propolis tincture should be introduced on turundas into periodontal pockets for 5 minutes.For superficial erosions and lesions of the oral mucosa, rinse with a solution prepared from 15 ml of propolis tincture in ½ cup of warm water, 4–5 times a day, for 3-4 days.

Therapy: treatment with antihistamines.

Adverse Reactions

The drug in conventional therapeutic doses is not toxic and is well tolerated. adverse reactions rarely occur, their outcome is favorable.

Adverse reactions are possible:

• on the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: urticaria, local itching of the skin, local edema, redness of the skin, blisters, vesicular rashes, dryness and cracking of the skin, especially on the hands and other parts of the body in contact with the drug;
• from the central nervous system: dizziness;
• from the immune system: allergic reactions, including allergic dermatitis, hyperemia, itchy skin, rashes, laryngospasm, shortness of breath, Quinckes edema, fever;
• from the gastrointestinal tract: nausea;
• from the respiratory system: shortness of breath.

Local reactions are possible, including a burning sensation of the tongue, dry mouth.
