

The drug "Permethrin ointment 4%" is used for scabies.
The active substance is permethrin (1 g of ointment contains 40 mg of permethrin).
Excipients: ethanol 96%, carbomer 980, triethanolamine, purified water.
Apply a small amount of ointment with a thin layer on scabies of the skin and rub thoroughly into the skin with massaging movements. 24 hours after the procedure, the ointment must be washed off with soap and water and change clothes. As a rule, the procedure should be carried out once, but if the itching does not stop or new elements of scabies appear (a sign of insufficient effectiveness), after 14 days (not earlier), the treatment should be repeated.
The drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy, unless the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and baby. For the period of treatment should stop breast-feeding.
It is contraindicated in children under 2 months of age. For children from 2 months of age, use the drug as directed by a doctor.
There are no reports on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles or work with mechanisms.
There is no information on overdose cases. In case of overdose, intensification of the symptoms indicated in the section “Side effects” is possible.
In case of an overdose, it is necessary to stop the use of the drug, rinse the skin with plenty of warm water. Perhaps the use of antihistamines.
In some cases, an irritating effect on the skin, a burning sensation, tingling or pinching, intensification of itching, swelling, numbness of the skin, paresthesia, pain, erythema, eczema, allergic reactions, including skin rashes, edema, are possible. In such cases, the use of ointment should be discontinued. In patients with scabies, itching can continue for 4 weeks after the end of treatment. This may be due to the presence of an allergic reaction to the dead remains of the scabies mite under the skin and does not indicate treatment failure.
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
