Pharmacological properties

ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate is a heteroaromatic antioxidant. has a wide range of pharmacological effects: increases the bodys resistance to stress, has an anxiolytic effect, which is not accompanied by drowsiness and muscle relaxant effect; possesses nootropic properties, prevents and reduces memory impairment that occurs during aging and under the influence of various pathogenic factors, has an anticonvulsant effect; exhibits antioxidant and antihypoxic effect; increases concentration and efficiency; weakens the toxic effects of alcohol. the drug improves the metabolism of brain tissue and their blood supply, microcirculation and rheological properties of blood, reduces platelet aggregation. stabilizes the membrane structures of blood cells (red blood cells and platelets); reduces the content of total cholesterol and LDL.

The mechanism of action is due to its antioxidant and membrane-protective activity. It inhibits lipid peroxidation, increases the activity of superoxide oxidase, increases the ratio of lipid - protein, reduces the viscosity of the membrane. It simulates the activity of membrane-bound enzymes (calcium-independent PDE, adenylate cyclase, acetylcholinesterase), receptor complexes (benzodiazepine, GABA, acetylcholine), which enhances their ability to bind to ligands, helps to preserve the structural and functional organization of biomembranes, transport neurotransmitters and neurotransmitters. Armadin Long boosts dopamine levels in the brain. Under conditions of tissue ischemia, it enhances the compensatory activation of aerobic glycolysis and reduces the degree of inhibition of oxidative processes in the Krebs cycle.

Pharmacokinetics Armadin Long is a prolonged dosage form that provides uniform release of the active substance within 10-12 hours and reduces the likelihood of side effects as a result of a sharp increase in its content in blood plasma. The effect of the drug begins to appear 3-4 hours after administration, when the concentration of the active substance in the blood plasma reaches a therapeutic level, a steady improvement in the condition of patients occurs after 2-3 days when a stationary level of pharmacokinetic parameters is established. After discontinuation of the drug, its effect persists for another 3-5 days.

Absorption of the drug begins in the stomach and occurs in the small and large intestines. The rate of release and absorption of the active substance from Armadin Long tablets is practically independent of the gastrointestinal tract, pH and the composition of the chyme.

Ethyl methyl hydroxypyridine succinate in the human body is metabolized mainly in the liver by intensive conjugation with glucuronic acid and excreted in the urine both unchanged and in the form of glucuron conjugates. Indicators of renal excretion of the unchanged drug and its conjugated metabolites are characterized by significant individual variability.

Indications

Neurology:

• consequences of acute cerebrovascular accident;

Application

Armadin Long is prescribed orally regardless of food intake. to ensure a gradual and uniform release of the active substance from the tablet, it should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

In connection with the production technology of a prolonged form, a soft jelly-like base is removed along with feces, which in shape resembles a tablet, but does not contain an active substance.

Doses and duration of treatment are established, taking into account the sensitivity of patients to the drug and medical indications.

In the first 2-3 days, Armadin Long is prescribed 1 tablet of 300 or 500 mg each, in the future the daily dose is increased to 600 mg; the drug is taken 1 tablet every 12 hours.

With coronary heart disease, Armadin Long take 1-2 tablets 2 times a day for 2-3 months.

Patients with anxiety, neurocirculatory dysfunction and cognitive impairment take Armadin Long for 2-6 weeks.

For the relief of alcohol withdrawal symptoms, the drug is used for 5-7 days.

The course therapy with Armadin Long is completed gradually, reducing the dose for 2-3 days.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug. acute hepatic or renal failure.

Side effects

Armadin Long reduces the severity of the toxic effects of ethyl alcohol. increases hypotensive activity of apf inhibitors, β-adrenergic blockers. increases antianginal activity of nitro drugs. under the influence of the drug, the effect of tranquilizing, antipsychotic, antidepressants, sleeping pills and anticonvulsants is enhanced, which allows to reduce the doses of the latter and to reduce the severity of side effects.

Overdose

In case of an overdose, drowsiness and sedation may occur.

Treatment: detoxification, symptomatic therapy.
