Pharmacological properties

lomflox (lomefloxacin) - difluorinated quinolone, a synthetic antibacterial agent with a wide spectrum of bactericidal action. active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including escherichia coli, enterobacter spp., citrobacter spp., klebsiella spp., staphylococcus spp., neisseria gonorrhoeae, streptococcus pneumoniae. the mechanism of action is due to inhibition of bacterial dna gyrase, which is necessary for dna transcription and replication. resistant to bacterial β-lactamases. streptococcus spp., pseudomonas cerasia, ureaplasma urealyticum, mycoplasma hominis and anaerobic bacteria are resistant to lomefloxacin.

Pharmacokinetics After oral administration, lomefloxacin is rapidly and almost completely (95–98%) absorbed in the digestive tract. About 65% of the dose taken is excreted unchanged in the urine. The half-life is 7–9 hours. In patients with impaired renal function, the half-life of the drug is significantly increased.

Indications

Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to lomflox:

complicated and uncomplicated (including recurrent) urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, urethritis);

preoperative and postoperative prevention of urinary tract infections during transurethral interventions (including adenomectomy, distance lithotripsy) and transrectal biopsy of the prostate gland;

acute and chronic gonorrhea;

acute and recurrent chlamydia (including mixed bacterial-chlamydial infection);

acute and exacerbation of chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract;

acute and chronic purulent infections of the skin and soft tissues, infected wounds.

Application

Inside, regardless of the meal. the recommended dose is 400 mg once a day during the entire course of treatment. if necessary, increase the dose to 800 mg / day. the duration and frequency of taking the drug are determined individually. patients with cirrhosis and normal renal function do not need dose adjustment.

For the prevention of postoperative infectious and inflammatory diseases of the urinary system, Lomflox is used at a dose of 400 mg once 2-8 hours before surgery. The dose of lomefloxacin must be adjusted in patients with renal failure, depending on its severity and creatinine clearance less than 40 ml / min. For patients with creatinine clearance greater than 10 and less than 40 ml / min, the recommended single loading dose is 400 mg 1 time per day with further use of 200 mg / day at a time.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. epilepsy; diseases of the central nervous system with a reduced seizure threshold (after a traumatic brain injury, stroke, or inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system). During pregnancy and breastfeeding. age to 18 years.
