Pharmacological properties
Combined topical preparation with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. the combination of chloramphenicol with Sulfadimethoxine significantly expands the antimicrobial spectrum and prolongs the effect of the drug. the use of trimecaine provides a local anesthetic effect. methyluracil promotes scarring of wounds. polyethylene oxide base adsorbs wound exudate, potentiates the activity of drugs.
Indications
Infected purulent wounds in the 1st phase of the (purulent-necrotic) wound process, prevention of suppuration of superficial wounds.
Application
Ointment is impregnated with sterile gauze napkins, which loosely tampon the wound. it is possible to administer the drug (temperature 35–36 ° C) into the purulent cavity through a catheter using a syringe. Dressings are done daily until the wound is completely cleansed of purulent-necrotic masses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
