Combined preparation for local use. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity, active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (staphylococci, Escherichia coli). It easily penetrates tissue without damaging biological membranes, and stimulates regeneration processes. In the presence of pus and necrotic masses, the antibacterial effect is preserved.

Indications for use.

Treatment of purulent wounds (including those infected with mixed microflora) in the first phase of the (purulent-necrotic) wound process, boils, long-healing trophic ulcers, burns of the II — III degree.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Dosage and administration.

The ointment is intended for external use in adults and children. the drug is saturated with sterile gauze napkins, which loosely fill the wound. A conventional dressing is applied on top, with parchment or compress paper. it is possible to administer the drug into the purulent cavity through a catheter (drainage tube) using a syringe. in this case, the ointment is preheated to 35 - 37 ° C. dressings are carried out daily, until the wound is completely cleansed of pus and necrotic masses.

Overdose.

Overdose phenomena with the use of Levomekol ointment were not detected. when used according to the recommendations, an overdose is not possible.

Side effects.

Angioedema, allergic reactions in the form of a skin rash are possible.

Interaction with other drugs.
