Pharmacological properties

Hexaspray is an agent with antiseptic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

The pharmaceutically active ingredient of Hexaspray biclotimol is a thymol derivative with antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Micrococci and corynebacteria. Causes coagulation of proteins of the bacterial wall. It also has a local anti-inflammatory effect along with an analgesic effect.

The extremely slow absorption of biclotimol, due to its connection with the proteins of the mucous membrane, ensures the long-term effect of the drug in the oral cavity.

Indications

Topical symptomatic therapy of diseases of the oral cavity and nasopharynx of an infectious and inflammatory nature:

• aphthous stomatitis;

• periodontal disease;
• gingivitis;
• pharyngitis;
• angina.

Application

Locally for adults and children aged 2.5 years - 2 injections 3 times a day. course ≤5 days.

Shake the bottle before use, keep upright when irrigating the oral cavity.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the drug; children under the age of 2.5 years (risk of laryngospasm).

Side effects

Violations of the skin. very rarely, the development of edema of the lips, skin rashes, urticaria, erythema, and angioedema is possible.

The presence of such ingredients as soya lecithin and methyl parahydroxybenzoate in the preparation determines the probability of allergic reactions in certain categories of patients.

With an increase in the period of application of Hexalyse of 5 days, it is possible to develop dysbiotic disorders in the oral cavity and the likelihood of the spread of a bacterial or fungal infection.

Due to the likelihood of undesirable interactions such as inactivation or antagonism, it is necessary to refrain from combined use with other topical antiseptic agents.

If the patients condition worsens, for example, a fever develops, or if there is no positive dynamics for 5 days, a second examination of the patient is required, followed by a review of the therapeutic strategy.

There is no information on the safety of the drug during pregnancy and lactation due to the lack of adequate and well-controlled studies involving these categories of patients.
