Pharmacological properties

Herva woolly grass contains flavonoids, polysaccharides, mucus, organic acids, tannins, coumarins, saponins. this complex of biologically active substances has a diuretic, salt-releasing, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic effect. preparations from the grass of Erva wool contribute to the dissolution and removal of stones from the kidneys, the rapid removal of inflammatory processes in the urinary tract, reduce the urea in the blood serum, increase the excretion of sodium ions and to a lesser extent - potassium.

Indications

The initial stages of urolithiasis; postoperative period after removal of urinary calculi; inflammatory diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract (pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis); diseases accompanied by impaired salt metabolism (gout, spondylosis, polyarthritis).

Application

5 g (2 tablespoons) of the herb are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the residue is squeezed to the filtered infusion. the volume of infusion is adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml. adults take 1 / 4-1 / 2 cups 2-3 times a day in the warm form 15-20 minutes before meals. children aged 12-14 years, 1 tablespoon, over 14 years old, 2 tablespoons 2-3 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals. the course of treatment is 10-30 days, it is recommended to conduct 2-3 courses per year. Shake the infusion before use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug; the presence of calculi exceeding the diameter of the ureter; children under 12 years old.

Side effects

In isolated cases, nausea, allergic reactions (hyperemia, rash, itching and swelling) are possible.
