Menthol has a local irritant, analgesic, distracting, antipruritic, antiseptic, sedative effect. the effect is due to reflex reactions associated with irritation of sensitive nerve endings: irritation of the skin receptors stimulates the formation and release of endogenous biologically active substances (enkephalins, endorphins, peptides, kinins) that are involved in the regulation of pain, vascular permeability and other processes that provide painkiller, distracting and antipruritic effect. distracting effect helps to reduce the severity of pain. local action is accompanied by a narrowing of blood vessels, a feeling of cold, which turns into a sensation of light burning and tingling. skin-visceral reflexes improve trophic tissue (according to the innervation zones). menthol reflexively changes the tone of the vessels, both superficial and deeply located in the tissues and internal organs.

Camphor has an antiseptic, locally irritating, analeptic, anti-aggregation effect. Reflexively excites vasomotor and respiratory centers, exerting analeptic activity. It has peripheral vasopressor activity. Inhibits platelet aggregation. Standing out from the body through the respiratory tract, it promotes expectoration. With local application, it displays distracting properties.

Thymol is an antiseptic and disinfectant. By destroying enzymes important for the viability of microorganisms, it prevents the spread of the rotting process and delays it if it has already begun.

Methyl salicylate has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. It non-selectively inhibits COX, reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins. It normalizes the increased permeability of capillaries, improves microcirculation processes, reduces edema and infiltration of inflamed tissues.

Eucalyptus oil has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. Topical application reduces sensitivity. Eucalyptus oil also stimulates cardiac activity.

Turpentine oil is used topically to treat colds as a distracting and warming agent.

Indications

• Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (runny nose, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis); muscle pain; joint pain.

Application

For diseases of the respiratory tract, 2–4 g of Helpex ointment should be applied to the skin in the area of ​​the chest and throat and then rub. if desired, the application area can be covered with a warm, dry cloth, but it must be applied loosely to allow the vapors to reach the nose and throat. with a runny nose or nasal congestion, a small amount of Helpex ointment is applied to the skin of the wings of the nose and rubbed lightly. for pain in muscles and joints, apply ointment to the area of ​​muscles or joints with a thick layer and gently rub.

In adults and children (aged 3 years), use the Helpex Effect drug up to 3 times a day.

The duration of treatment is determined individually depending on the severity of the disease and clinical efficacy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. epilepsy, tendency to convulsions, skin diseases, spasmophilia, ba, whooping cough. During pregnancy and breastfeeding. childrens age 3 years.

Side effects

Minor or moderate local irritations, erythema, rashes, peeling, itching, discoloration of the skin that quickly passes, urticaria, dermatitis were noted; rarely - apnea, collapse in infants (during local use on the nostril).

The drug should be applied only to intact healthy skin, cannot be applied to open wounds.

Persistent coughing can be a sign of a serious illness. If the cough does not disappear within 1 week, tends to relapse or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, the patient should consult a doctor to review treatment tactics.

Do not use the drug with prolonged or chronic cough, which is a consequence of smoking, asthma, emphysema, or if the cough is accompanied by intensive discharge of sputum.

Do not apply the drug to large areas of the skin.

The drug stains the tissue with which it is in contact.
