Actual information

Tricardin is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs that affect the cardiovascular system of plant origin; dispensed without a prescription.

Characterization of active substances

Valerian officinalis (Valeriana officinalis). Medicinal plant material (LRS) - rhizomes with valerian roots, used to obtain valerian tincture. They contain up to 100 chemicals. Bornil isovalerate is the main active ingredient in essential oil. Its content in LRS is 0.5–2%. Also, LRS contains isovalerianic acid, alkaloids, glycosides (valeriosides) and some organic acids. As an aglycon of valeroside - valerogenin - triterpene ketone. Valepotriates (non-glycoside iridoid compounds) after drying of LRS turn into valerianic acid. Moreover, valepotriates are found only in living plants or just collected. Valerianic acid, which is part of the LRS, can be in free or bound form. This plant has a wide spectrum of action. Alkaloids, reducing the excitability of the central nervous system, eliminate stress and reduce irritability in stressful situations. These same substances have a sedative and hypnotic effect. In addition, the active substances of this plant slow down the heart rhythm and have a coronary expansion effect. Valerian is able to potentiate the activity of chlorpromazine and reduce smooth muscle spasms. And the essential oil, which is part of it, is able to affect the reduction of seizures that are caused by the indole alkaloid brucin. In its action, this alkaloid is similar to strychnine. In addition, this plant is able to influence the increased excitability that has arisen under the influence of caffeine, and lengthens the period of action of sleeping pills.

Assign in case of impaired central nervous system functions in a chronic form, as a sedative drug; in the treatment of epilepsy; with some neurotic anxiety-depressive conditions.

The peculiarity of the action of valerian preparations is that the maximum effect of their use is observed with prolonged and systematic administration, since their effect develops gradually. Drugs that include valerian are prescribed as part of complex therapy, for example, combined with chlorpromazine. This combination allows you to reduce the dose of chlorpromazine. Also used as part of complex therapy for cardiovascular diseases, combined with sedatives. Sometimes prescribed as a sedative drug to pregnant women. In some patients with a history of hypertension, sleep disturbances, the appearance of nightmare dreams are possible (Turova A. et al., 1987). Valerian preparations are actively used not only in Ukraine, but also in other European countries.

Motherwort. As LRS use motherwort grass. The plants used as LRS are motherwort five-lobed or hairy (Leonuris quinquelobatus), motherwort / ordinary (Leonuris cardiaca) and Siberian motherwort (Leonuris sibiricus).

The plant includes flavonoids, bitterness, tannins, resins, ascorbic acid, traces of essential oil. Preparations containing motherwort are similar in their effect to valerian preparations. Assigned as a sedative drug, as sleeping pills and anticonvulsants. They are used to normalize blood pressure, in the complex therapy of tachycardia, to lower blood glucose levels, to strengthen immunity, improve metabolism (carbohydrates, fats, proteins), and normalize the digestion process. Motherwort helps to reduce the level of lactic and pyruvic acid, cholesterol in the human body (Turova A. et al., 1987).

Hawthorn. There are several types of this plant: pentacle hawthorn (Grataegus pentagyna), blood-red hawthorn (Grataegus sanguinea) and prickly hawthorn (Grataegus oxyacantha).As LRS use fruits. The active ingredients that make up the fruit are flavonoids, phytosterols and triterpene acids (they correct cerebral and coronary circulation). The fruits of this plant are able to simultaneously increase myocardial contractility and reduce its excitability. It has hypotensive, antispasmodic, cardioprotective and anti-sclerotic properties. It is actively used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In high concentrations it has a vasodilating effect. Galenic dosage forms of any type of this plant have an antiarrhythmic effect. Ursolic and oleanic acids are able to enhance blood circulation in the vessels of not only the heart, but also the brain and reduce blood pressure.

Research and drug history Tricardin

The process of obtaining the drug began with the study, it was carried out in the regional cardiology clinic, which previously functioned in the city of Ternopol (1992). Before it was conducted, tinctures of valerian, motherwort, and hawthorn were mixed in different proportions. As a result, it was found that the ratio is the most effective, in which 100 ml of the solution contains 34 ml of tincture of valerian and 33 ml of tincture of motherwort and hawthorn. It is in this ratio that the drops under the trade name Tricardin caused the maximum therapeutic effect. After applying the drops, the patient returned to normal condition associated with a change in vascular tone; anxiety level decreased, symptom severity decreased in patients of two groups - with neurocirculatory dystonia and cardiac syndrome. It was also found that treatment Tricardin contributed to the normalization of blood pressure, the elimination of arrhythmias.

The pharmacological effect of the drug consists of the action of the active chemical compounds of plants that make up its composition.

The life of a modern person is full of stressful situations, which, of course, cannot but affect his health. And although there are quite a lot of different ways as physical means of eliminating stress, in particular, fitness, good rest and positive emotions, nevertheless, not all people have the opportunity to carry out the above. And there are diseases for the elimination of which it is necessary to use medicines, for example, herbal remedies. One of them - Tricardin. Due to its composition, it is actively used.

Indications

Neurocirculatory dystonia, vegetoneurosis, as a sedative drug for overexcitation and insomnia.

The syndrome of autonomic dystonia (SVD) cannot be attributed to an independent pathology, but, nevertheless, in most cases it is used to describe the syndromes of multi-system vegetative disorders caused by psychogenic factors. All autonomic disorders include a variety of etiologies and manifestations of disorders of autonomic functions, which are based on neurogenic regulation disorders. Violations are manifested by many clinical symptoms that arise, develop and worsen in stressful situations. The disease is quite common. And although this disease has a favorable prognosis and a benign course, nevertheless, impaired vegetative functions in such patients often lead to a deterioration in the quality of life. For patients, characteristic complaints are pain in the heart or abdomen, dyspepsia, and jumps in blood pressure. Rapid shallow breathing and sleep disturbance, palpitations and psychoemotional disturbances may be observed. There are two types of this syndrome: the hypertensive type, which is characterized by an increase in blood pressure, and the hypotensive type, in which, on the contrary, a periodic decrease in blood pressure is observed.

The following are possible causes of SVD: heredity, age-related changes in the body. It can be both organic lesions of the nervous system, and various stresses; overwork, overstrain and diseases of the endocrine system. But most often these are mental disorders and, first of all, of a neurotic nature (Shcherbak I., 2011).

Benefits Tricardine:

- has a mild cardiotonic and sedative effect;

- improves blood supply to the heart muscle and brain;
