Basic physico-chemical characteristics: ointment of a white or white color with a yellowish tint, with a characteristic odor;

Structure. 100 g of ointment contains racemic menthol - 18 g or peppermint oil - 22.5 g, camphor - 10 g, eucalyptus oil - 10 g, clove oil - 1 g;

other components: medical paraffin, medical vaseline.

Drug action.

Pharmacodynamics. Gevkamen ointment irritates nerve endings, has a "distracting", local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect, which is due to the substances that make up its composition.

Indications for use. The drug is used by adults in the treatment of neuralgia, myalgia, arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica.

Method of use and dose. The ointment is used externally for grinding. The frequency of use and the duration of the course of treatment depend on the nature of the disease, its severity, effect achieved, and the nature of basic therapy.

Side effect. Sometimes urticaria or skin irritation may occur at the site of use of the ointment.

Contraindications Ointment for various skin diseases in the place where it is necessary to apply it. Ointment should not be used in children under 12 years of age, women during pregnancy and lactation.

Features of use. Avoid contact with Gevkamen ointment in the eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse with water and immediately consult a doctor. Do not apply to mucous membranes!
