Pharmacological properties
Galstena preparation combines the properties of hepatoprotector, choleretic and cholekinetics, has antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects on the hepatobiliary system.

Indications
For the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the liver, biliary tract and bladder, in the treatment of chronic pancreatitis.
To protect and restore the liver when using antibiotics, colds, painkillers, anti-inflammatory and other hepatotoxic drugs and alcohol.
Application
Galstena in the form of drops for oral administration and tablets.
Single dose. For adults and children over the age of 12: 10 drops (in pure form or diluted in 1 tablespoon of water) or 1 tablet; children aged 5-12 years: 5-7 drops or ½ tablets; children 2–4 years old: 2–4 drops each.
Take the drug 3 times a day - drops, 2 times a day - tablets.
At the beginning of treatment, as well as in cases requiring quick relief of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to take a single dose of Galstena every 0.5-1 hours to improve: drops up to 8 times a day or tablets - up to 4 times a day, but no more than 3 days, then drops 3 times a day or tablets - 2 times a day.
The course of treatment, depending on the nature and severity of the disease, is determined by the doctor.
Typically, the duration of treatment for hepatitis, hepatosis, cirrhosis of the liver is at least 3 months, with chronic cholecystitis, gallstone disease, postcholecystectomy syndrome - 2-3 months. If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated after 1 month. With biliary dyskinesia, the duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks. For the purpose of hepatoprotection during or after antibiotic therapy and other hepatotoxic effects - 2–4 weeks.
To achieve the maximum effect, it is recommended to take the drug in between meals (30 minutes before or 1 hour after eating), holding it for a while in the mouth before swallowing (tablets before resorption). For children under 5 years of age, for ease of use, the drug is recommended to be dissolved in a tablespoon of water.

Children. Galstena oral drops are used in children over the age of 2 years. Galsten in the form of tablets is used in children over the age of 5 years.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to active substances, plants of the family Asteraceae (such as chamomile, calendula, chrysanthemum) or an auxiliary substance of the drug.

Galstena oral drops should not be used in patients with alcohol dependence, since one dose (5/10 drops) contains 80/160 mg of alcohol.
The alcohol content should also be considered when using the drug during pregnancy, lactation, in children and patients with a high risk of liver disease and the risk of epilepsy attacks.
At the beginning of treatment, the existing symptoms of the disease may temporarily worsen (initial reaction). Such a reaction is usually not harmful. If symptoms persist, discontinue use of the drug. After the disappearance of the primary reaction, the drug can be used again. With a repeated exacerbation of symptoms, the use of the drug must be stopped.
Long-term treatment with homeopathic medicines should be monitored by a doctor with experience in using homeopathic medicines, as symptoms may occur that are not indicated in the instructions for medical use.
The dosage form of the tablet contains lactose, therefore, patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome must use a drop form instead of Galsten tablets.
