Flucinar® [Neomycin, fluocinolone acetonide]

Pharmacological properties

Combined preparation for external use. fluocinolone acetonide is a fluorinated glucocorticoid - a derivative of triamcinolone, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-allergic effect. neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that exhibits a bacteriostatic effect against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. the drug is effective in the treatment of allergic and inflammatory skin diseases complicated by a secondary bacterial infection.

When applied topically to large areas of the skin, especially when using occlusive dressings, it can be resorbed and have a systemic effect.

Indications

Treatment of dry dermatoses, especially of allergic origin, with signs of a secondary infection sensitive to neomycin, the course of which is accompanied by persistent itching or hyperkeratosis. the drug is indicated for seborrheic dermatitis, urticaria lichen, atopic dermatitis, allergic contact eczema, erythema multiforme, lupus erythematosus, advanced psoriasis, lichen planus.

Application

The ointment is applied to the affected areas of the skin with a thin layer 1-3 times a day. ointment is used for subacute inflammatory processes and lichenification. course of treatment - no more than 2 weeks.

Contraindications

Allergy to corticosteroids, hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or other components of the drug. bacterial, fungal and viral dermatitis, chickenpox, skin tumors, skin cancer, rosacea and vulgaris, perianal and genital itching, perioral dermatitis, diaper dermatitis, thrombophlebitis and trophic ulcers against varicose veins after preventive vaccinations. the drug should not be used on large areas of the skin, especially on non-healing wounds, for example, deep burn wounds. not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age. you can not use the drug in the i trimester of pregnancy, during breastfeeding.

Side effects

Disorders of epithelization, atrophy of the skin and subcutaneous fat, striae, hyperemia of the skin, hyperkeratosis, delayed wound healing, petechiae, hematoma. when applying the drug to large areas of the skin, especially under an occlusive dressing, neomycin resorption and the development of oto- and nephrotoxicity phenomena are possible.

special instructions

The drug is not recommended to be applied to wet areas and is not used on facial skin and large areas of the skin. used with extreme caution in patients with glaucoma and cataracts, in patients with mild subcutaneous fatty tissue, especially in the elderly. adolescents are prescribed only in exceptional cases and in small areas of the skin, avoid applying the drug to the skin of the face.

It is not recommended to use during pregnancy. With prolonged use of the drug and when applying ointment to large areas of the skin, there is a risk of a systemic effect of fluocinolone acetonide.

Interactions

During the treatment of corticosteroids, vaccination against smallpox or other types of immunization should not be carried out in connection with the immunosuppressive effect of corticosteroids.
