Pharmacological properties

The main active component of the drug is eucalyptus oil with a content of at least 80% of the antispasmodically active 1,8-cineole. its effect is combined with the action of coniferous oil, which contains 30–40% alpha-pinenes, which improve blood circulation. the pharmacological effect of these essential oils leads to liquefaction and dissolution of bronchial secretions, enhance its excretion by ciliated epithelium, weaken catarrhal manifestations in the respiratory tract, and anti-inflammatory effect. Due to its lipophilic properties, active substances are well distributed on the skin and absorbed. after absorption, they are partially excreted through the lungs, which means they enter the bloodstream directly to the site of action. Thus, the preliminary action that occurs during inhalation is enhanced when taking baths and, in the case of bed rest, is supplemented by the positive influence of a warm bath, which, in combination with active substances, causes perspiration.
