Pharmacological properties

Dr. mom® Cough Syrup is a combination drug from medicinal plants.

The drug has a bronchodilator, mucolytic, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.

The effectiveness of the drug is due to the pharmacological properties of its components:

• sacred basil extract (Maximum sanctum) - expectorant, antipyretic, diaphoretic and antiseptic effect;
• licorice extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) - analgesic, sedative, cooling, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect;
• Curcuma longa extract - anti-inflammatory, antibacterial effect;
• ginger extract medicinal (Zingiber officinale) - anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect;
• extract of justice of the adatode (Adhatoda vasika) - mucolytic, expectorant, antispasmodic effect;
• extract of Indian nightshade (Solanum indicum) - antipyretic, expectorant effect;
• extract of elecampane racemosa (Inula racemosa) - antispasmodic, antiseptic, expectorant effect;
• cubeba pepper extract (Piper cubeba) - anti-inflammatory, expectorant effect;
• Belerika terminalia extract (Terminalia belerica) - decongestant, expectorant effect;
• Aloe barbados extract (Aloe barbadensis) - anti-inflammatory, regenerative effect;
• menthol - antispasmodic and antiseptic effect.

Indications

Symptomatic treatment for acute and chronic respiratory diseases, accompanied by dry cough and cough with a thick, difficult to separate sputum:

• acute and chronic diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract (pharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis);
• professional "lecture" laryngitis.

Application

Shake well before use!

The solution is intended for oral use.

Children: aged 3-5 years - 2.5 ml 3 times a day, after meals.

At the age of 6-14 years - 2.5-5 ml 3 times a day, after meals.

Adults and children over the age of 14 years: 5-10 ml 3 times a day, after meals.

The duration of treatment is 7-10 days.

If the condition has not improved or even worsened within 3-5 days, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components that make up the drug; ag; liver and kidney diseases; bile duct obstruction; acute cholangitis; calculi in the gallbladder; diarrhea; hemorrhoids; inflammatory diseases of the colon (e.g. Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis); violation of bowel obstruction, including bowel obstruction, intestinal atony, intestinal stenosis, appendicitis, abdominal pain of unknown origin, severe dehydration, impaired water-electrolyte balance; severe obesity; spasmophilia; ba; croup; diabetes.

Side effects

On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: rash, urticaria, pruritus, angioedema, dermatitis.

From the cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure, pain in the heart.

From the digestive tract: dyspeptic symptoms, nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, irritation of the oral mucosa, belching, abdominal pain, stomach cramps, flatulence.

Metabolic disorders: violation of the water-electrolyte balance (including the appearance of edema).

From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions.

Others: dizziness, flushing of the skin, dry mouth.

The composition of the drug includes sodium methyl paraben and sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which can cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed type).

special instructions

The drug contains sucrose (7.5 g per 10 ml of syrup). this should be considered in patients following a low-calorie diet. do not use the drug for patients with diabetes. It is also not recommended to take the drug Dr. Mom® Syrup for patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose / galactose malabsorption syndrome and sucrose / isomaltase deficiency.

Aloe should not be taken in patients with coprostasis, patients with complaints of the gastrointestinal tract, for example, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, including undiagnosed, as these symptoms may be signs of potential or existing intestinal obstruction. In patients with kidney disease, electrolyte disturbances are possible.

Patients taking cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs, drugs that cause a prolongation of the Q – T interval, diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids or licorice root should consult a doctor.

Patients with gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn) should avoid the use of the drug, as heartburn may increase.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. Since there is no experience with the use of the drug Dr. Mom^® syrup in pregnant and lactating women, and given the fact that the drug contains licorice naked, it should not be prescribed to this group of patients.

Children. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms. There is no data on the effect of the drug Dr. Mom^® syrup for driving vehicles or working with potentially dangerous machinery, so when taking the drug should refrain from the above activities.

Interactions

Dr. mom® syrup should not be used in conjunction with other antitussive drugs, as sputum thinning may be inhibited.

Concurrently with Dr. Mom Syrup^® according to indications, antimicrobial agents can be used.

Syrup Dr. Mom^® used with caution simultaneously with cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs that affect the heart rate, due to the risk of hypokalemia and impaired water-electrolyte balance, diuretics, GCS, laxatives. Used with caution with acetylsalicylic acid, warfarin and other antithrombotic drugs because of the possibility of bleeding. The drug may enhance the absorption of sulfoguanidine.

Overdose

Cases of overdose are unknown.

Long-term use in excessive doses of drugs containing licorice can lead to the formation of edema, the development of hypokalemia, and increased blood pressure. In some cases, hypokalemic myopathy and myoglobinuria are possible. Pain in the area of ​​the heart may occur. Therapy is symptomatic.

Storage conditions
