Licorice naked extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and expectorant effects. Ginger officinalis extract (Zingiber officinalis Rosc.) Has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Emblica officinalis extract (Emblica officinalis gaetn.) Has an anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect. Menthol has an antispasmodic and antiseptic effect.

Indications

Symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract, which are accompanied by a cough (pharyngitis, laryngitis, including lecture laryngitis, tracheitis and bronchitis).

Application

Adults are prescribed 1 candy every 2 hours (slowly dissolve). the maximum daily dose is 10 candies.

The duration of treatment is no more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug; impaired liver and kidney function; ag; hypokalemia; severe obesity; spasmophilia; ba; diabetes; childhood.

Side effects

Use during pregnancy and lactation. The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy. If it is necessary to take the drug during the treatment period, breast-feeding should be discontinued.

Children. It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to people under the age of 18 years.

Interactions

Dr. Mom® lozenges should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs and drugs that suppress sputum formation, as this prevents expectoration of diluted sputum.

Hypokalemia (as a result of excessive use of licorice root) may intensify when interacting with cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs, and drugs that affect heart rate (e.g. quinidine). When combined with drugs that cause the development of hypokalemia (thiazide and loop diuretics, adrenocorticosteroid and laxative drugs), electrolyte imbalance is possible, therefore, the drug should not be used for a long time simultaneously with the above drugs.

With the combined use of the drug with warfarin, caution should be exercised in view of the possibility of bleeding due to an increase in INR / INR (international normalized ratio).

Overdose

Prolonged use of licorice in excessive doses can lead to hypokalemia; in some cases, hypokalemic myopathy and myoglobinuria are possible. pain in the area of ​​the heart may occur.in case of an overdose, symptomatic treatment is performed.
