Pharmacological properties

dioxidine is a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug. effective in infections caused by a vulgar protea, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Friedlander bacillus, Escherichia coli and dysentery bacilli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, pathogenic anaerobes, including causative agents of gas gangrene. active against bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics, sulfonamides, nitrofurans and other drugs.

Pharmacokinetics When applied topically, dioxidine is partially absorbed, does not have a local irritant effect. It is not metabolized. Not cumulated. It is excreted by the kidneys.

Indications

Purulent-inflammatory processes of various localization: purulent pleurisy, pleural empyema, lung abscess, peritonitis, cystitis, wounds with deep cavities, soft tissue abscesses, phlegmon, postoperative wounds of the urinary and biliary tract. also used to prevent infectious complications after catheterization of the bladder.

Application

Dioxidine is prescribed only for adults.

Before starting the course of treatment, it is necessary to conduct a test for tolerability of the drug, for which 10 ml of 1% solution is introduced into the purulent cavity. In the absence of side effects within 3-6 hours (dizziness, chills, fever), course treatment is started. The solution is injected into the cavity through a drainage tube, catheter or syringe - usually 10-50 ml of 1% solution. The maximum daily dose is 70 ml of 1% solution. Apply 1 or 2 times a day (not exceeding the daily dose of 70 ml of 1% solution). The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and tolerance to the drug. The course of treatment can last 3 weeks or more. If necessary, repeat the treatment after 1-1.5 months.

Also apply topically, applying dressings to the wound surface moistened with 1% r-rum.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, the presence of a history of insufficiency of the adrenal cortex.

Dioxidine is used only under close medical supervision. uncontrolled use of dioxidine and dosage forms that contain it is not allowed.

If adverse reactions occur, the dose should be reduced, antihistamines should be prescribed, and if necessary, stop the use of dioxidine.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.

Children. The drug is not used to treat children.

Storage conditions
