Pharmacological properties
Dimethicone is a surface-active polysiloxane. it reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles, causes their destruction and promotes the removal of gases. with oral administration, dimethicone reduces flatulence caused by various reasons, reduces bloating and abdominal pain.
Pharmacokinetics Dimethicone is not absorbed in the digestive tract. It is excreted unchanged with feces.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment for gastrointestinal manifestations associated with gas formation (e.g. flatulence).
As an adjunct in diagnostic tests of the abdominal organs (radiography, ultrasound, gastroduodenoscopy).
Increased gas formation after surgical interventions.
As an antifoam for intoxication with detergents.
Application
Shake before use!
1 ml (1 ml = 35 drops) contains 300 mg of dimethicone.
For treatment with flatulence
- Children under the age of 10:

- Adults and children over the age of 10 years: 5 drops 4 times a day.
To prepare for an X-ray or ultrasound
- Adults: 12 drops after a meal 3 times a day before the study and 12 drops in the morning on the day of the examination.
To prepare for gastroduodenoscopy
Adults and children over the age of 10 years: within 2-3 days before the examination, 12 drops 4 times a day.
With increased gas formation in the postoperative period
Adults: 12 drops every 4-6 hours, if necessary, increase the dose.
Detergent Poisoning
In case of poisoning with detergents, the dosage depends on the severity of intoxication. The minimum recommended dose of Cuplaton is 1 ml.
The duration of treatment depends on the presence of complaints, the decision is made by the doctor individually for each patient. If necessary, the drug can be taken for a long time.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to dimethicone or any of the excipients of the drug. intestinal obstruction, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Side effects
Adverse reactions to the drug were not noted, but allergic reactions, including pruritus, hyperemia, rash, and urticaria, are possible.
