Basic physico-chemical characteristics: clear, colorless liquid;

Structure 100 ml of the drug contain: zinc sulfate - 0.25 g, boric acid - 2 g;

excipient: purified water.

The form of release of the drug. Eye drops.

Drug action.

Pharmacodynamics. The drug Cyborate-oftan has an antimicrobial effect when applied topically to most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Pharmacokinetics Cyborate-oftan penetrates well through the conjunctival membrane, especially in young children.

Indications for use. The drug is used in the treatment of conjunctivitis of bacterial etiology.

Method of use and dose. Cyborate-oftan is prescribed as a local antimicrobial preparation for external use: pipette two drops of the drug 2-3 times a day into each eye. The course of treatment is 1 to 3 weeks.

Side effect. With prolonged or frequent use, phenomena of general resorption action may be observed associated with the absorption of the components of the drug, including boric acid. Side effects can manifest as impaired renal function, liver, mainly in childhood.

Contraindications The use of cyborate-oftan is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; children under 12 years old and women during pregnancy and lactation.

Overdose. With prolonged use of the drug, symptoms of chronic intoxication can occur: tissue edema, exhaustion, stomatitis, eczema, menstrual irregularities in women, anemia, convulsions, allopecia. In these cases, the drug is canceled, symptomatic treatment is carried out.

Features of use. Avoid prolonged use of the drug and its overdose, especially in children.
