Pharmacological properties

Proteolytic enzyme obtained from the pancreas of cattle. cleaves peptide bonds in a protein molecule, bonds formed by residues of aromatic amino acids, causing an anti-inflammatory effect. it lyses necrotic tissues without affecting living cells due to the presence of specific antienzymes in them. can be used in combination with antibiotics and bronchodilating agents.

Indications

Tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess, BA with hypersecretion, etc .; prevention of complications after lung surgery; burns and pressure sores, thrombophlebitis, purulent wounds, etc .; fresh extensive thrombosis of the central retinal vein, clouding of the vitreous body of traumatic and inflammatory origin, etc .; purulent sinusitis, purulent otitis media, eustachitis with viscous exudate, etc.

Application

In pulmonology, IM 5–10 mg / day for 10–12 days.

In surgery - v / m, intrapleurally (hemothorax, empyema), injected with a thin needle syringe under the scab (burns, pressure sores), locally - using tampons with the drug (treatment of purulent wounds). The dosage regimen depends on the indications.

In ophthalmology - subconjunctival, the solution of the drug is injected into the posterior chamber of the eye (cataract extraction).

In otorhinolaryngology - the solution is injected into the maxillary cavity (sinusitis), instilled into the ear, in / m (simultaneously with local use of the drug). The dosage regimen depends on the indications.

Contraindications

It should be used with caution in diseases of the respiratory tract in patients with an active form of acute tuberculosis and always in combination with specific drugs.

Side effects

Allergic reactions. after inhalation, hoarseness is occasionally observed. short increase in body temperature. sometimes irritation and swelling of the conjunctiva.
