Abipim powder for solution for injection in the treatment of:

Structure

Active substance: cefepime;

1 bottle contains cefepime - 1000 mg.

(As a mixture of cefepime hydrochloride and L-arginine).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to cefepime or L-arginine, as well as cephalosporin antibiotics, penicillins or other b-lactam antibiotics.

Mode of application

The usual dosage for adults is 1 g, which is administered intravenously or intramuscularly with an interval of 12 hours. The usual duration of treatment is 7 to 10 days; severe infections may require longer treatment.

Children

Overdose

Side effects

Interaction

Applying high doses of aminoglycosides simultaneously with cefepime, kidney function should be carefully monitored due to the potential nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics. Nephrotoxicity was observed after simultaneous use with furosemide diuretics.

To avoid possible drug interactions, cefepime should not be used simultaneously with solutions of metronidazole, vancomycin, gentamycin, tobramycin sulfate and netromycin sulfate. In case of simultaneous use with these drugs, each antibiotic should be administered separately.
