Pharmacological properties

the drug has a local irritating, softening and keratolytic effect, helps to improve nutrition and hair growth. salicylic acid, which is part of it, exhibits an antiseptic effect, together with the softening effect of castor oil, ensures the removal of dandruff. tincture of capsicum penetrates into the hair sacs and irritates the hair follicles, stimulating their growth.

Indications

Prevention and treatment of hair loss, removal and prevention of dandruff.

Application

The drug is rubbed into the scalp for 1 hour before washing the hair, as a rule, no more than 1 time per week. the course of treatment is 1-2 months. after 3-4 weeks it must be repeated.

Contraindications

Diseases of the skin of various nature, increased sensitivity of the skin to the components of the drug.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, dryness, peeling, skin irritation, contact dermatitis, urticaria, itching, which require discontinuation of the drug.

With prolonged use, absorption into the systemic circulation and the development of side effects characteristic of salicylates are possible: tinnitus, dizziness, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, acidosis, tachypnea.

special instructions

The drug should not be applied to places with acute inflammatory process of the skin or its damage.

Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. The use of the drug during pregnancy is contraindicated. If treatment with Capsiol is necessary, breast-feeding should be discontinued.

Children. Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Interactions

Topical administration of preparations containing salicylic acid should not be combined with oral administration of drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs. do not prescribe simultaneously with benzoyl peroxide and local retinoid preparations. salicylic acid can increase the permeability of the skin to other medicines. may enhance the undesirable effect of methotrexate, the hypoglycemic effect of oral antidiabetic drugs derived from sulfonylureas.

Overdose

When used in high doses, the keratolytic effect and allergic reactions may increase. symptomatic therapy.
