Gastral oral mint suspension is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, heartburn, including in pregnant women.
Structure
Active substances: sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate;
5 ml of the drug contain:
- sodium alginate - 250 mg;
- sodium bicarbonate - 133.5 mg;
- calcium carbonate - 80 mg.
Excipients: carbomer, methyl paraben (E 218), propyl paraben (E 216), sodium saccharin, peppermint oil, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to active substances or to any excipients, including methylparaben (E 218) and propyl paraben (E 216).
Mode of application
For adults and children over 12 years of age, the drug should be administered orally by 10-20 ml (2-4 teaspoons) after meals and at bedtime. Elderly patients do not require dose adjustment.
Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) after meals and at bedtime.
When using the drug in a dose multiple of 10 ml, you can use the drug in the form of a sachet.
Do not use the drug for more than 7 days. If the symptoms of the disease persist or worsen during this period, the patient must consult a doctor to clarify the diagnosis and correct the treatment regimen.

Pregnant women
The drug can be used during pregnancy if there is a clinical need after consulting a doctor.
Children
Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

Overdose
In case of overdose, apply symptomatic treatment. An overdose can manifest as bloating.
Side effects
- From the immune system: very rarely anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions, hypersensitivity reactions, such as rash, urticaria.
- From the respiratory system, chest and mediastinal organs: very rarely manifestations from the respiratory system, such as bronchospasm.
- From the digestive tract: frequency unknown: bloating, constipation.
Interaction
Between taking Gastral and using other drugs, especially N 2 - antihistamines, tetracyclines, digoxin, fluoroquinolone, iron salts, ketoconazole, antipsychotics, thyroxine, penicillamine, beta-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), glucocorticoids, chloroquine, bisphosphonates (diphosphonates, and less than 2 hours).
Storage conditions
Do not store in the refrigerator but do not freeze.
