Bimaprost

Bimican Eco eye drops are indicated to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in adult patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma and intraocular hypertension (as monotherapy or as an adjunctive therapy for beta-blockers).

Structure

Active ingredient: bimatoprost;

1 ml of the solution contains - 0.3 mg of bimatoprost;

Excipients: sodium phosphate dodecahydrate; citric acid monohydrate, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, 10% solution, high purity water.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients that make up the drug.

Mode of application

For topical use in ophthalmology only.

When applying naso-lacrimal occlusion or closing the eyelids for 2 minutes, systemic absorption decreases. This can reduce systemic adverse reactions and enhance the local activity of the drug.

If more than one local ophthalmic preparation is used, it is necessary to take a five-minute break between each instillation. Eye ointments should be applied last.

Apply to adults: instill 1 drop in the affected eye (s) once a day in the evening.

The dose should not exceed 1 injection 1 time per day, since more frequent use of the drug can reduce the effect of reducing increased intraocular pressure.

Bimatoprost should not be used during pregnancy, except in cases of emergency.

Children

Contraindicated.

Drivers

Bimatoprost has a negligible effect on the reaction rate when driving or working with other mechanisms. As with other eye drops, if temporary instability of vision occurs after instillation, the patient must wait until his vision recovers before driving or operating machinery.

Overdose

No cases of overdose of Bimican Eco have been reported. When applied topically in the form of eye drops, an overdose is unlikely.

In case of an overdose, supportive and symptomatic therapy is needed.

Side effects

• From the nervous system: headache, dizziness.
• On the part of the organ of vision: conjunctival hyperemia, (superficial) mottled keratitis, eye irritation, foreign body sensation in the eye, dry eyes, eye pain, itching, increased eyelash growth, redness of the eyelids, asthenopia, conjunctival edema, photophobia, lacrimation, hyperpigmentation iris, blurred vision / blurred vision, itching of the eyelids, swelling of the eyelids, corneal erosion, burning sensation in the eyes, allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis, deterioration in visual acuity, ocular discharge, darkening of the eyelashes, retinal hemorrhage, blepharospasm, eyelid retraction, conjunctival disorders, madarosis (loss of eyelashes or eyebrows), eyelid pigmentation, eye swelling, uveitis, iritis.
• From the cardiovascular system: arterial hypertension.
• From the digestive tract: nausea.
• On the part of the skin and its derivatives: hyperpigmentation of the skin (periorbital area), hypertrichosis (pathological hair growth), redness of the periorbital area, dry skin, crusting on the edge of the eyelids, itching.
• From the respiratory system and mediastinal organs: asthma, exacerbation of bronchial asthma, exacerbation of COPD and shortness of breath.
• On the part of the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including signs and symptoms of eye allergy and allergic dermatitis.
• General disorders and changes at the injection site: asthenia, irritation at the instillation site.
