Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics Besalol has antispasmodic, anticholinergic, certain analgesic and antiseptic effects. The first three effects are caused by the alkaloids of the atropine group contained in the belladonna extract, the antiseptic effect is associated with phenyl salicylate, which breaks down in the intestinal alkaline medium with the release of phenol (inhibits the pathogenic flora) and salicylic acid (anti-inflammatory effect). A feature of phenyl salicylate is that with prolonged use it does not cause intestinal dysbiosis.
Pharmacokinetics The drug is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted by the kidneys.
