Pharmacological properties
The combined drug. It belongs to the group of anticholinergics that act on peripheral mediator processes. It exhibits an antispasmodic effect of belladonna alkaloids with antacid properties of sodium bicarbonate.
Indications for use
Becarbon is prescribed for intestinal cramps, with increased acidity of gastric juice, including due to the development of hyperacid gastritis and dyspepsia.
Dosage and administration
Adults take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, 30-40 minutes before meals. Children from 3 to 7 years old are prescribed 1/4 tablets, and for children from 7 to 14 years old, 1/2 to 3/4 tablets. The highest single dose for adults is 5 tablets, the highest daily dose is 15 tablets. The duration of admission is determined by the doctor depending on the nature of the pathological process and the effect achieved.
Side effects
Dry mouth, loss of taste and appetite, drowsiness, dizziness, tachycardia, disturbance of accommodation, dilated pupils. In case of adverse effects or other unusual reactions, you must stop taking the drug and consult a doctor immediately!
Contraindications
Taking Becarbon tablets is contraindicated in case of glaucoma and suspected glaucoma, prostate adenoma; stenotic diseases of the digestive tract, intestinal atony, atonic constipation, pronounced atherosclerosis, decompensation of cardiac activity, tachyarrhythmia; myasthenia gravis; during lactation; with hypersensitivity to belladonna drugs.
Interaction with other drugs
If you are taking any other medicines, be sure to inform your doctor! Belladonna, which is part of the drug, reduces or eliminates the action of M-anticholinergics, anticholinesterase drugs. It potentiates the arrhythmogenic effect of MAO inhibitors (nipamide, pyrazidol), cardiac glycosides (digitoxin, digoxin, Corglicon, cardiovalen, adoniside), clofelin, cholinolytic properties of quinidine, nookinamide, the effects of barbiturates, antihistamines, dihydrodinazine dinozin dinase sibazon, phenazepam, nozepam, lorazepam, mebicar, oxylidine, trioxazine).
Application features
Before starting treatment, consult your doctor! Use with caution the drug of patients with polyneuropathy, hyperthyroidism, coronary heart disease, chronic heart failure, hypertension, kidney disease, reflux esophagitis. It is not recommended to use the drug for prolonged periods with cholelithiasis and nephrolithiasis. The use of Becarbon during pregnancy is possible only if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. It is not recommended to use the drug for patients whose activity is associated with the need for a high concentration of attention, quick mental and motor reactions.
