Pharmacological properties

The drug has a systemic therapeutic effect, due to the combination and mutual strengthening of the active components. It has a bronchodilator, mucolytic, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating and anti-allergic effect.

The drug eliminates spasm and reduces bronchial reactivity, reduces shortness of breath, and reduces the frequency and intensity of asthma attacks. It improves quantitative (production volume) and qualitative (physico-chemical) characteristics of sputum, promotes liquefaction and effective discharge of thick mucus. Restores the work of the ciliated epithelium of the bronchi.

The anti-inflammatory effect of the drug prevents damage to the bronchi and lungs by free radicals and proteases, protects the pulmonary blood flow from the action of inflammatory mediators.

Reduces inflammatory infiltration and swelling of the mucous membrane, prevents the development of sclerotic changes in the bronchi and lungs. It improves the state of systemic immunity, normalizes the functional state of the cell link and indicators of humoral immunity (IgE and CEC levels), and also reduces the degree of antigenic stimulation. Contributes to the stabilization of mast cell membranes, reduces eosinophilia.

The drug increases the effectiveness of complex therapy of AD. Enhances the bronchodilator effect of inhaled corticosteroids and β₂-agonists, allows you to reduce the frequency of administration or dose of basic therapy drugs.

In the treatment of bronchitis, including obstructive, the drug reduces the severity of bronchial obstructive syndrome, helps to improve the dynamics of clinical (including auscultative symptoms, indicators of respiratory function, peak flowmetry data) and subjective manifestations.

In the treatment of chronic bronchitis, including smokers cough, it facilitates coughing, improves breathing, general condition and quality of life, prevents the development of irreversible changes in the bronchi and lungs. Promotes the rapid elimination of the asthenic symptom complex of hypoxic and infectious genesis. It stimulates the individual compensatory capabilities of the body, increases the nonspecific reactivity and resistance of the body to infections. Indications

Application

Adults and children over the age of 12 years: 1 tablet or 10 drops of the drug in its pure form or diluted in 1 tablespoon of water;

children aged 5-12 years: ½ tablets;

children aged 2-12 years: 5 drops of the drug, diluted in 1 tablespoon of water;

children under the age of 1 year: 1 drop of the drug, diluted in 1 teaspoon of water or milk.

The drug is taken 3 times a day - drops, 2 times a day - tablets.

At the beginning of treatment, as well as in cases requiring a rapid decrease in the severity of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to take the drug every 30 min – 1 h up to 8 times a day until the condition improves, but no more than 3 days, with the transition to a standard dose - 3 times a day .

To increase effectiveness, it is recommended to take the drug between meals (30 minutes before or 1 hour after eating), after holding the drug for some time in the mouth before swallowing.

The course of treatment: acute bronchitis - 2-4 weeks, chronic bronchitis - 4 weeks. Chronic obstructive bronchitis, BA - 2-3 months.

Since Atma contains plant and other natural components, slight changes in taste and smell or some turbidity of the solution are possible, which does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

The drug in the dosage form of the tablet contains lactose, so patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should use the drug in the form of drops instead of Atma tablets.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. Information on any risk to the fetus and child due to taking the drug during pregnancy and lactation is still not available, but the feasibility of using the drug is carried out taking into account the benefit / risk ratio, which is determined by the doctor.

Children. The drug in the form of drops is prescribed for children over 2 years of age. Tablets - for children over 5 years old.

Interactions
