Pharmacological properties

Antral belongs to the group of hepatoprotective drugs. effective in the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis of various origins, liver cirrhosis, helps to reduce the severity of asthenovegetative disorders, improves appetite, sleep, and reduces dyspeptic phenomena. with course use, the drug normalizes the content of bilirubin, γ-globulins, blood cholesterol, the prothrombin index, the activity of hepatic transaminases (alat and asat) and alkaline phosphatase. Antral has a prolonged anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. according to the results of preclinical studies, it was found that antral in conditions of acute, subacute and chronic damage to the liver by various xenobiotics and their combinations helps to reduce the severity of the effects of hepatotoxins, activation of reparative processes in hepatocytes and the practical normalization of the structural and functional state of the liver. the drug inhibits the processes of sex in the blood and tissues, supports the activity of antioxidant systems of the body, determines the stabilization of the structure of the liver and hepatocyte membranes. As a relatively safe pharmacological agent, Antral does not adversely affect the functions of organs and systems of the body, does not have cumulative properties, and does not exhibit immunotoxic, locally irritating, allergenic, ulcerogenic, embryotoxic, teratogenic effects.

Pharmacokinetics The maximum accumulation of the drug in the blood is noted after 3-4 hours, T_½ - 4–5 hours. The drug is excreted in urine and feces.

Indications

Antral is indicated for adults and children for the treatment of: acute and chronic hepatitis of various etiologies (viral, alcoholic, medical, toxic); fatty degeneration and cirrhosis of the liver; inflammatory diseases of the gallbladder, spleen, pancreas; postcholecystectomy syndrome (after removal of the gallbladder). for the prevention of liver diseases due to the negative effects of toxins of various etiologies: nutritional toxins, drugs, chemotherapy, radiation therapy.

Application

Antral is prescribed orally after meals 3 times a day:

• adults and children over the age of 10 years - 200 mg per reception; with liver cirrhosis: in the first week of treatment - 400 mg per dose, then 2-3 weeks - 200 mg per dose;
• children aged 4-10 years (including with cirrhosis) - 100 mg per reception.

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease. The average course of treatment is 3-4 weeks. The course of treatment should be repeated after 3-4 weeks.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. violation of the excretory function of the kidneys.

Side effects

The drug as a whole is well tolerated by patients. in isolated cases, with prolonged use of antral, weakness, dizziness, dyspeptic symptoms, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea that occur after drug withdrawal are possible.

Allergic reactions: skin rashes, urticaria, angioedema, redness and itching of the skin.

special instructions

It is recommended to take antral 20-30 minutes after eating with enough water or milk.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. Due to the limited experience in the use of the drug, it is not recommended to prescribe during pregnancy or lactation.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with complex mechanisms. There is no evidence regarding the effect, however, drivers and operators of complex mechanisms should consider the likelihood of dizziness.

Children. The drug is not prescribed for children under the age of 4 years.

Interactions

Antral is well compatible with antibacterial, detoxifying, choleretic, and vitamin preparations, which allows it to be included in therapeutic treatment complexes. with the simultaneous use in patients with cirrhosis, the antral does not affect the activity of steroid and cytostatic drugs; a decrease (up to 50–70%) of the previously taken dose of steroids is allowed without further reduction in the effectiveness of treatment.

Overdose

In case of an overdose, the occurrence and intensification of adverse reactions is possible.

If you accidentally take the drug in high doses, you should rinse the stomach and, if necessary, carry out symptomatic treatment.
