Arida® dry cough syrup for children

Structure:

Active ingredients: 19.55 g of powder contain: marshmallow root of dry extract (althaeae radix extractum siccum) - 4.0 g; sodium bicarbonate - 2.0 g; licorice root of dry extract (glycyrrhizae radix extractum siccum) - 1.0 g; ammonium chloride - 0.5 g; aniseed oil - 0.05 g;

excipients: sodium benzoate, confectionery sugar.

Dosage form.

Powder.

Basic physical and chemical properties: powder from light beige to brownish-gray with the smell of anise oil. During storage, it is possible to whip the powder into lumps or form a solid porous mass, should disintegrate when diluted with water. The aqueous suspension of the drug (1: 10) has a color from light to dark brown.

The drug is used as an antitussive, anti-inflammatory and expectorant in the complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. organic heart lesions (myocarditis, pericarditis, myocardial infarction), arterial hypertension, impaired liver and kidney function; hypokalemia, severe obesity.

Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions.

Concomitant use with cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs (quinidine), thiazide and loop diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids and laxatives can enhance hypokalemia.

It is not recommended to use together with antitussive agents.

Use during pregnancy or lactation.

The drug is used for children aged 1 to 18 years. during pregnancy and lactation, the doctor prescribes treatment, provided that the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus / baby.

Dosage and administration.

Before use, dilute the powder with boiled chilled water to the mark on the vial (200 ml).

Assign inside after meals, for children aged 1 to 6 years - 1 teaspoon of the medicine 4-5 times a day, for children over 6 years old - 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times a day. Shake the medicine before use. Store the diluted powder for 10 days at a temperature not exceeding +8 ° C.

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the effect achieved and the nature of the complex therapy.

Overdose.

Nausea, vomiting. overdose and prolonged use (more than 2 months) can cause a violation of the water-electrolyte balance, as a result of which the development of hypokalemic myopathy and myoglobinuria is possible.

Possible increased side effects.

Prolonged use of licorice in excessive doses can cause a violation of the water-electrolytic balance and lead to the development of hypokalemia; in some cases, an increase in blood pressure, hypokalemic myopathy and myoglobinuria are possible.
