Aluminum hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide

MAALOX® oral suspension in a bottle of 250 ml. Combined antacid for the treatment of heartburn and acid regurgitation in adults and children over 15 years of age.

Act

The drug is a well-balanced combination of hydrated aluminum oxide and magnesium hydroxide, protects the mucous membrane of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. Magnesium and aluminum hydroxides are antacids that neutralize the excess of hydrochloric acid, which is part of the gastric juice, which reduces the burning sensation in the stomach.

Indications for use

Treatment of heartburn and acid reflux in adults and children over 15 years of age.

Contraindications

Severe forms of renal failure (since this remedy contains magnesium), hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Alzheimers disease, common constipation, chronic diarrhea, severe abdominal pain of unspecified genesis, hypophosphatemia.

Dosage and administration

Apply to treat adults and children over 15 years of age. Method of administration is oral. Take 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of the suspension in case of heartburn or acid reflux (not more than 6 tablespoons per day). Before use, the vial with the suspension must be thoroughly shaken until a homogeneous suspension is formed.

The duration of the course of treatment without going to the doctor should not exceed 10 days.

Use during pregnancy or lactation:

Lactation. The use of combined preparations containing aluminum and magnesium salts is allowed, since the systemic circulation of aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide is limited and women can breastfeed during treatment.

Children

There is no experience in the use of the drug in children under the age of 15 years.

Composition and form of release

Structure

Active ingredients: aluminum and magnesium hydroxide; 100 ml of the suspension contains aluminum hydroxide 3.5 g, magnesium hydroxide 4 g.

Excipients: domifen bromide; citric acid monohydrate (E 330); peppermint oil; attracts (E 421); non-crystallizing sorbitol solution (E 420); diluted hydrochloric acid (E 507); sodium saccharin (E 954); hydrogen peroxide solution 30%, purified water.

Release form

The suspension is oral.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C out of the reach of children. Do not freeze. After opening the bottle, store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C for 6 months.
