Pharmacological properties

Agerp refers to antiviral agents that are highly effective against herpes viruses, especially herpes simplex viruses type I and II, as well as herpes zoster virus. after entering the cell affected by the herpes virus, acyclovir is converted into active acyclovir triphosphate. its activity is associated with a violation of the synthesis of dna of herpes viruses in a human cell due to inhibition of the function of viral dna polymerase. Acyclovir does not affect other cellular processes that are not associated with the synthesis of viral dna. the pharmacokinetics of the drug have not been studied, but, taking into account the literature, acyclovir in the form of a cream has a very low level of systemic absorption, even with repeated use.
